History
In 1963 Dave Mulligan had an idea. He was working as a Title Examiner for California Pacific Title in Napa, California and was tired of running back and forth to the Assessor’s office for information. Why not bring the data and maps to the real estate community? With the true entrepreneurial spirit that has made America great, he set out to answer that question. His goal was a convenient, flexible and cost-effective way to provide accurate real property data and parcel maps. What he did was pioneer a billion dollar property information industry.
Microfiche was the hottest technology in 1970 and so began Microfiche Publishers, Inc. With four (4) planetary cameras, a 16/35mm film processor, and a generator loaded in a semi-truck, he developed relationships and contracts with Assessors and their staff throughout California and six (6) neighboring states. What was once a stack of paper taller than the inventor himself was reduced to mere sheets of microfiche still used as archive material today. |

CD-DATA Today
| CD-DATA was officially formed in 1995 and began delivering Assessor’s parcel data and plat maps on CD-ROM and via the Internet. Going against the industry trend of creating databases by farming out unverified Recorder’s documents to data entry plants in foreign countries, CD-DATA works directly with County Assessors and their staff throughout California. This is the only way to ensure the data we provide is created by local experts familiar with the properties, California real estate law, and document content. We believe in keeping our customer's money in America, keeping jobs in America, and keeping California's vital real estate records safely in America. |

With the official forming of CD-DATA in 1995, David Mulligan passed the torch to his son, Grant Mulligan. Using over 40 years of industry knowledge and experience, CD-DATA continues to focus on providing quality California Assessor’s data directly to industry professionals. Our mission demands accurate, timely data with excellence in building relationships with Assessors and our customers. |
CD-DATA is now one of the largest providers of real estate information in the state. Our customers include thousands of Realtors, Appraisers, Surveyors, Government Agencies, Developers, Investors and GIS companies who need the most reliable information and high-quality, current maps.
And what of our pioneer? David Mulligan is CD-DATA’s Product Development Director. True to his nature, you’ll find him hard at work everyday developing new and innovative products.
CD-DATA consolidated offices from San Diego and Napa and is now headquartered in Folsom, California.
